Baseball Recap: Ludlowe Takes a Loss

After flying high against Notre Dame Prep last Friday, Ludlowe came back down to earth. The Falcons fell just short of the Fairfield Prep Jesuits by a score of 9-7 on Wednesday. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Jesuits when the teams met back in June of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ludlowe got a good showing from Luke Stasko, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Ian Moore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Dylan Davis, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Ludlowe dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fairfield Prep, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Ludlowe will welcome Law at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fairfield Prep, they will venture away from home to challenge Bishop Hendricken at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Jesuits surely won't give up without a fight.
