Softball Game Preview: Central Wise Warriors vs. Union Bears

The Central Wise Warriors will face off against the Union Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Central Wise has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Central Wise sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Ridgeview. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now won six in a row.

Sophie Carter was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Union's offense. They came up short against Lee on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The shutout was out of character for the Bears seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Central Wise's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Central Wise came out on top in a nail-biter against Union when the teams last played last Tuesday, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
