Softball Game Preview: Harrison Raiders vs. Carmel Greyhounds

The Harrison Raiders will head out to take on the Carmel Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Harrison will be strutting in after a win while Carmel will be coming in after a defeat.

While Harrison's victory against Roncalli wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Raiders skirted past the Royals 6-5.

Bradi Odom spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ashley Dunk was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Mallory Duell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Carmel fell victim to Fishers and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 12-0. The Greyhounds' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Harrison has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Harrison took their victory against Carmel in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
