Volleyball Recap: Westborough Gets the Win

Westborough won the last time they faced Barnstable and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rangers came out on top against the Red Hawks by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rangers.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 21-25, 25-23, 25-15.

Leila Ditullio had a dynamite game, getting 16 digs and eight aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: Westborough was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Barnstable only served eight.

Barnstable's loss came despite strong showings from Molly Colantuono and Alayna Rodriguez. Colantuono had five digs and three aces, while Rodriguez had nine digs.

Westborough's victory bumped their record up to 12-2-1. As for Barnstable, they moved to 10-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Looking ahead, Westborough will square off against Wachusett Regional at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Barnstable, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Bridgewater-Raynham on the 22nd.
