Basketball Recap: Turpin Comes Up Short

Turpin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Milford Eagles 59-28. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-38 last Thursday.

Violet Shuluga continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Milford, going 12 of 19 to rack up 27 points and five steals. Shuluga continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Gabby Chadwell was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven assists and four steals.

Turpin's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Milford, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Turpin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Milford, they will host Little Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
