Basketball Game Preview: Charles Henderson Trojans vs. Escambia County Blue Devils

The Charles Henderson Trojans will take on the Escambia County Blue Devils in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Charles Henderson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Escambia County likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Charles Henderson humbled Barbour County with a 69-35 victory. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Escambia County was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 59-58 to Hillcrest. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost three in a row.

Charles Henderson will need focus on slowing down Cleo Bolar, one of several Escambia County players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 of 20 on his way to 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The contest was Bolar's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaniguel Taylor, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 16 points.

Charles Henderson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.9 points. As for Escambia County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
