Baseball Game Preview: Wheeling Park Patriots vs. St. Clairsville Red Devils

The Wheeling Park Patriots will head out to square off against the St. Clairsville Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wheeling Park will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Wheeling Park came out on top against Weir on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Patriots walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Red Riders.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for St. Clairsville's offense. They fell 3-0 to Dover on Monday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Red Devils were not able to get on the board.

Wheeling Park's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for St. Clairsville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-4 record.

Wheeling Park came up short against St. Clairsville in their previous matchup back in April, falling 6-3. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
