Softball Recap: Lemon Bay Manta Rays vs. Riverdale Raiders
Lemon Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverdale Raiders. If the Manta Rays were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to the Raiders when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Reagan Altieri put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Altieri wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cassidy Silvia, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Lemon Bay now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Riverdale, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-9.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Lemon Bay will challenge Booker at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
