Football Recap: Sierra Vista Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Foothill

On Tuesday, Sierra Vista faced Foothill in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The matchup between the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions and the Foothill Falcons didn't end well, with the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions falling 18-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Mountain Lions were not able to get on the board.

Even if they lost, Sierra Vista's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Lydia Masnica was especially locked on to Foothill's QB and sacked her twice. That's the most sacks Masnica has posted since back in December of 2024.

Sierra Vista's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Foothill, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Sierra Vista didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-8 victory against Clark on the 10th. As for Foothill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 26-6 win against Sunrise Mountain on the 12th.
