Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Eastside Catholic Crusaders

Roosevelt hasn't had much luck against Eastside Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Roughriders will head out on the road to take on the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. Roosevelt's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Eastside Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Roosevelt not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2025 (when they won 16-0). They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over Rainier Beach. The Roughriders haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Eastside Catholic suffered their biggest defeat since March 21st on Tuesday. They lost 7-1 to Ingraham.

Josh Connelly-Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Eastside Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5-2.

Roosevelt came up short against Eastside Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, falling 3-0. Can the Roughriders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
