Softball Recap: Park Rapids Takes a Loss

Park Rapids was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 9-4 to the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Park Rapids saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nora Cederstrom, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Park Rapids now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Wadena-Deer Creek, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Park Rapids will square off against Staples-Motley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Wadena-Deer Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Sebeka at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
