Volleyball Recap: Reedy Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

The Reedy Lions beat the Vista Ridge Rangers 2-0 on Saturday.

Mariah Akinsola paced Reedy's offense, picking up nine kills. Akinsola got some help from Paige Hawkinson and her 15 assists. Hawkinson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Vista Ridge's loss came despite strong showings from Lilly Gowan and Jennavee Jensen. Gowan had 12 assists and nine digs, while Jensen had six kills and six digs. Jensen is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Reedy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Vista Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reedy will square off against Independence at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vista Ridge, they will face off against Georgetown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
