Soccer Game Preview: Tallwood vs. Kempsville

The Tallwood Lions will challenge the Kempsville Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tallwood's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Monday, Tallwood came up short against Ocean Lakes and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, Tallwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Ocean Lakes are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Kempsville unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against First Colonial, falling 3-0. The contest was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Kempsville it sure didn't stay that way.

Kempsville's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 10-2-1. As for Tallwood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9-1.
