Basketball Recap: Frankton Skates Past Muncie Burris with Ease

It was a Battle of the Birds when Frankton duked it out with Muncie Burris on Tuesday. The Eagles breezed past the Owls to the tune of 60-29. With the Eagles ahead 36-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Frankton was led to victory by Trey Bennett and Ethan Stansberry. Bennett shot 63% from the field en route to 18 points in addition to seven blocks and six boards, while Stansberry went 5-for-6 to rack up 15 points and three steals. Those 15 points gave Stansberry a new career-high. Ashton Brobston was another key player, shooting 63% from the field on his way to 12 points.

Frankton was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Muncie Burris only posted five.

Muncie Burris' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Price, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points and five rebounds. Price is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Brycen Pope, who posted six points.

Frankton pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frankton will host Tipton at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Muncie Burris, they will be playing at home against GEO Next Generation at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
