Baseball Recap: Wasatch Has No Trouble Against Cedar Valley

Wasatch won the last time they faced Cedar Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Wasps blew past the Aviators 17-10. The result was nothing new for the Wasps, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Austin Brown was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Wasatch: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolden Hafen, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Wasatch and bumps their season record up to 14-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Cedar Valley, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Coming up, Wasatch will challenge Salem Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Skyhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.39 runs per game on average), something the Wasps will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cedar Valley, they will take on Orem at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
