Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for George Washington

There's no place like home for George Washington, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with an 81-68 win over the Northfield Nighthawks on Friday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 62-52 win on February 4th.

George Washington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Trimm, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. Trimm is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 54% in the last three games he's played. Malachi Headrick was another key player, going 8-for-14 on his way to 27 points.

When it comes to explaining why Northfield lost, don't look at Judah Michael. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Daizhon Walker, who had 12 points.

George Washington's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. George Washington is facing Fairview at the right time seeing as Fairview is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Northfield, they will challenge Arvada West at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. Arvada West knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Northfield likes a good challenge.
