Volleyball Recap: Cupertino Comes Up Short

Cupertino lost against Monta Vista back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pioneers fell 2-0 to the Matadors. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their offense was headlined by Kathryn Gee and Claire Chien, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Sophia Song and her three assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Cupertino's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Monta Vista, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Matadors beat Cupertino by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.
