Softball Recap: Midland Trail Find Success

Midland Trail won the last time they faced Greenbrier West and things went their way on Monday too. Midland Trail narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Greenbrier West 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since May 8, 2024.

Madison Rader spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Nevaeh Hall was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-5. Jessi Mooney also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Midland Trail's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midland Trail will square off against Wyoming East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenbrier West, they will challenge Van at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
