Softball Recap: Lemon Bay Comes Up Short

Lemon Bay was the 14-4 winner over DeSoto County when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Manta Rays fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-5 on Monday. The Manta Rays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kylie Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

Lemon Bay's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-9. As for DeSoto County, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Lemon Bay will host Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for DeSoto County, they will venture away from home to face off against Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bullsharks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
