Spearville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 victory over the South Gray Rebels. This was a revenge game for the Lancers: when they faced off against the Rebels back in December of 2024, they had to take a 58-19 loss.

Despite the loss, South Gray still got an impressive performance from Kylie Stapleton, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Stapleton has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Jacee Deges was another key player, putting up ten points.

Spearville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for South Gray, with the defeat, they broke their 13-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-1.

Spearville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-48 loss against Bucklin on the 1st. As for South Gray, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-29 win against Hodgeman County on the 1st.
