Volleyball Recap: Madeline Bowman and Emmerson Kirk Secure Win for Bucklin

Bucklin lost to Kiowa County back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Red Aces came out on top against the Mavericks by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Aces.

While Bucklin won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23.

Leading Bucklin to victory were Emmerson Kirk and Madeline Bowman. Kirk had eight kills and four digs, while Bowman had ten digs and five assists. Those eight kills gave Kirk a new career-high.

Bucklin's victory bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Kiowa County, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-23.

Bucklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kiowa County, after both having extra time off, they and Pretty Prairie will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
