Volleyball Recap: Bellflower Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Aalyah Trejo and Valerie Rivas

Bellflower was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Firebaugh Falcons. If the Buccaneers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Falcons when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bellflower took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-22, 20-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-8.

Despite the loss, Bellflower had strong showings from Valerie Rivas, who had six digs and two blocks, and Aalyah Trejo, who had 23 digs and eight kills. With that strong performance, Rivas is now averaging an impressive 12.2 assists per game.

Bellflower's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Firebaugh, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.
