Basketball Recap: Walnut Ridge Skates Past Briggs with Ease

Walnut Ridge won the last time they faced Briggs and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Walnut Ridge Scots claimed a resounding 60-22 win over the Briggs Bruins. The Scots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 38 points or more this season.

Walnut Ridge was led to victory by J'Khyla Foster and Nyah Hubbard. Foster posted 21 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, while Hubbard dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Hubbard a new career-high in steals (eight). Another player making a difference was Adrianna Robertson, who put up six points.

Walnut Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Briggs, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Walnut Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-41 victory against Eastmoor Academy on the 13th. As for Briggs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 42-21 loss against Marion Harding on the 11th.
