Softball Recap: Polytech's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Polytech blew Sussex Academy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Sussex Academy got their revenge. The Panthers fell just short of the Seahawks by a score of 6-4. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Madison Frazier spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kaelynn Vogan and Kha'Lyn Tilghman did some serious damage despite the final result: Vogan scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Tilghman went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Vogan also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Polytech fell to 6-1. As for Sussex Academy, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Polytech will welcome Lake Forest at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sussex Academy, they will challenge Delaware Military Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
