Fletcher is 0-8 against Fleming Island since November of 2014 but things could change on Tuesday. The Fletcher Senators will host the Fleming Island Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Fletcher didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Fernandina Beach, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory. Given the Senators' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Pirates are ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Jasmine Cross, who went 6 for 14 en route to 15 points and five steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kristyona Harris, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and three steals.
Meanwhile, Fleming Island waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 61-37 win. With the Golden Eagles ahead 36-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Fleming Island's win came from a few key players Fletcher will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Seven Gourdet, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds. Amira Martin was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.
Fleming Island smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.
Fleming Island is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Fletcher, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fletcher has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fleming Island struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
