Softball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

If Eastern was feeling good fresh off their 14-1 takedown of Paoli on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Musketeers took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Henryville Hornets on Monday. The Musketeers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Bracie Jackson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Eastern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sidney Patton, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Eastern has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Henryville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Eastern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Salem on the 23rd. As for Henryville, they have also already played their next game, a 5-0 win against Trinity Lutheran on the 22nd.
