Baseball Recap: Daviess County Takes a Loss

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Daviess County was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They came up short against the McCracken County Mustangs, falling 7-1. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Daviess County got a good showing from Parker Wilson, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Wilson gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Daviess County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Ranburger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Daviess County's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for McCracken County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Daviess County will welcome Apollo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McCracken County, they will challenge Community Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
