Sandburg faced Downers Grove North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Trojans. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Sandburg was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (73-64), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-23, 27-25.

Jeremiah Aro paced Sandburg's offense, picking up 24 kills. Aro got some help from Easton Donausky and his 38 assists.

When it comes to explaining why Downers Grove North lost, don't look at Ethan Weiner. Despite the final result, he had 19 assists. With that strong performance, Weiner is now averaging an impressive 12.4 assists per game.

Sandburg pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Downers Grove North, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
