Baseball Game Preview: Meridian Bobcats vs. Cobden Appleknockers

Meridian is 0-10 against Cobden since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Bobcats will head out on the road to challenge the Appleknockers at 4:30 p.m. Meridian has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Meridian is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 18th straight game dating back to last season two weeks ago. They came up short against Elverado, falling 15-5.

Meanwhile, Cobden lost 14-3 to Century on Wednesday. The Appleknockers have struggled against the Centurions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Cobden saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Howell, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Cobden, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Meridian might still be hurting after the 18-1 defeat they got from Cobden in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
