Baseball Game Preview: New Life Academy Eagles vs. Heritage Christian

The New Life Academy Eagles will venture away from home to face off against Heritage Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as New Life Academy comes in on four and Heritage Christian on five.

While New Life Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Nova Classical Academy by a score of 12-7 on Friday.

Nolan Wold made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. Wold was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Lucas Larson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sam Kowalski, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Heritage Christian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over West Lutheran on Friday.

Heritage Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for New Life Academy, their record now sits at 6-2.

New Life Academy might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Heritage Christian in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
