Softball Game Preview: West Bend East Suns vs. Hartford Orioles

The West Bend East Suns will head out to square off against the Hartford Orioles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

It was a classic East v. West duel when West Bend East duked it out with West Bend West on Thursday. The Suns took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Suns have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Hartford came tearing into Thursday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 7-1 win. Considering the Orioles have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hartford's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for West Bend East, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

West Bend East was able to grind out a solid victory over Hartford in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 8-5. Will the Suns repeat their success, or do the Orioles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
