Basketball Game Preview: Stuart W. Cramer Storm vs. North Gaston Wildcats

The Stuart W. Cramer Storm and the North Gaston Wildcats will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Stuart W. Cramer and three for North Gaston.

Stuart W. Cramer is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Lincolnton on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Stuart W. Cramer was dealt a 77-48 defeat at the hands of Lincolnton. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Wolves are ranked 89th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Makhi Brown, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 10 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Darren Stowe, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, North Gaston came up short against North Lincoln on Thursday, falling 68-42. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-15.

Stuart W. Cramer's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for North Gaston, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-6.

Stuart W. Cramer skirted past North Gaston 57-54 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stuart W. Cramer since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
