Melrose's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Elida Tigers by a score of 17-12. The Buffaloes haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Melrose let Kane Hodge and Wesley Forgue run wild. Hodge got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles, while Forgue went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Forgue has posted since back in May of 2025. Max Sena was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Melrose's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Elida, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Melrose will have a chance to go back-to-back against Elida: the pair will be back at it again later today.
