Basketball Recap: Sierra Linda Skates Past Goldwater with Ease

There's no place like home for Sierra Linda, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 46-12 victory over the Goldwater Bulldogs. Sierra Linda's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Sierra Linda got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mariana Mathis out in front who posted 16 points. That's the most points Mathis has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Aymee Medina, who put up 12 points.

Sierra Linda's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Goldwater, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Sierra Linda didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 36-17 win against San Luis on the 12th. Goldwater has also already played their next contest, a 72-16 defeat against Combs on the 6th.
