Basketball Recap: Owen Jurjavcic Key Part of a Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Valley Christian, East Palestine was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Leetonia Bears by a score of 56-46. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

East Palestine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Owen Jurjavcic, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Landyn Cope was another key player, going 6 for 15 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Leetonia lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dylan Brown, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds. Those 14 points gave Brown a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Johns, who had 13 points.

The victory got East Palestine back to even at 5-5. As for Leetonia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

East Palestine will head out to challenge Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Leetonia, they will welcome David Anderson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
