Baseball Game Preview: Agricultural Science Cyclones vs. Thornton Fractional North Meteors

The Agricultural Science Cyclones are taking a road trip to square off against the Thornton Fractional North Meteors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Agricultural Science knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Thornton Fractional North likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Agricultural Science got the win against King by a conclusive 10-1. Considering the Cyclones have won six games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Agricultural Science let Elias Fernandez and Aiden Kessenich run wild. Fernandez scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Kessenich scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. With that strong performance, Fernandez is now averaging an impressive 1.8 stolen bases per game. Xavier Robles also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Agricultural Science always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King only posted an OBP of .250.

Meanwhile, Thornton Fractional North might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Argo who claimed the real prize. The Meteors came up short against the Argonauts, falling 13-1. The Meteors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Agricultural Science is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Thornton Fractional North, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
