Basketball Game Preview: Cherokee Bluff Bears vs. Monroe Golden Tornadoes

The Cherokee Bluff Bears will face off against the Monroe Golden Tornadoes on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cherokee Bluff comes in on five and Monroe on 16.

Cherokee Bluff is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-40 victory over Dougherty.

Meanwhile, Monroe strolled past Northwest Whitfield with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 62-47.

Monroe found their leader in sophomore Kie'Aundria Acree, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and 22 rebounds. The game was Acree's 50th in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Mckinzy, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards.

Monroe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 27 consecutive contests.

Monroe's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Cherokee Bluff, their victory bumped their record up to 22-8.
