Point Loma entered their tilt with Calexico on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Calexico Bulldogs 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Pointers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 124th).

Point Loma's victory bumped their record up to 4-2-1. As for Calexico, they moved to 8-3-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
