Baseball Recap: Northfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fort Wayne North Side last Thursday, Northfield came back down to earth. The Norsemen fell just short of the Southern Wells Raiders by a score of 6-5 on Friday.

Korbin Haupert made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Wyatt Bucher was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Northfield's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Southern Wells, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northfield will square off against Churubusco at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Southern Wells, they will take on Wes-Del at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Raiders are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
