Baseball Recap: Gatlinburg-Pittman's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Gatlinburg-Pittman came into Tuesday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Highlanders: when they faced off against the Royals on Monday, they had to take a 13-3 loss.

Easton Gaff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed over his last five contests.

On the hitting side, Gatlinburg-Pittman's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Davis, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits Davis has posted since back in April of 2024. Aaron Johnson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Gatlinburg-Pittman's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-3-1.

Looking ahead, Gatlinburg-Pittman will face off against Chuckey-Doak at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, they will challenge Victory Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
