Football Recap: Middletown Starts Season with Victory Against Donegal

Middletown had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They managed a 13-8 win over the Donegal Indians on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

The critical scores for Middletown came from George Hartwick and James Quenn.

One reason for the win was Middletown's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Hartwick got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Middletown will be playing in front of their home fans against Milton Hershey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Blue Raiders their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Donegal, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
