Basketball Recap: Dixie Takes a Loss

Dixie played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Tri-County North Panthers and fell 72-36. The Greyhounds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Bella Cherry was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 33 points and nine steals for Tri-County North. Those 33 points gave Cherry a new career-high. Leinani Garcia was another key player, putting up 15 points and seven steals.

Dixie's defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Tri-County North, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Dixie has already played their next game (against Valley View), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tri-County North has already played their next contest, a 76-52 win against Stivers School for the Arts on the 18th.
