Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Timberwolves vs. Bainbridge Spartans

The Jackson Timberwolves will take on the Bainbridge Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Jackson was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Monroe 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won three in a row.

Ashton Bergman was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Bainbridge got themselves on the board against Meadowdale on Friday, but Meadowdale never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mavericks, sneaking past 1-0. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Spartans have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Bainbridge's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Jackson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Everything went Jackson's way against Bainbridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Jackson made off with a 13-7 win. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
