Softball Recap: Marin Catholic Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Marin Catholic faced off against Lowell on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Cardinals. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on six straight.

Bella Ferrety was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Grace Berringer was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Ferrety wasn't the only one making solid contact: Marin Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The Wildcats are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Marin Catholic pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for Lowell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marin Catholic will face off against Albany at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lowell, they will challenge South San Francisco at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.1 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
