Baseball Game Preview: Dodge County Indians vs. Lee County Trojans

The Dodge County Indians will head out to face off against the Lee County Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Dodge County turned things around against Jefferson County on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Warriors.

The team relied heavily on Holden Thomas, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Lee County came tearing into Friday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Yellow Jackets by a score of 7-4.

Landon Price looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Weston Bryan was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brent Smith, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Lee County's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dodge County, their record is now 7-11.
