Soccer Game Preview: Enka vs. McDowell

Enka is on a three-game streak of home losses, and McDowell a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Enka Jets will be playing at home against the McDowell Titans at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Enka's offense. They lost 6-0 to T.C. Roberson on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Enka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th, while T.C. Roberson are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, McDowell managed to keep up with North Buncombe until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Titans came up short against the Black Hawks, falling 3-0.

McDowell's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Enka, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Enka took their victory against McDowell in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Jets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
