Football Recap: Bronte Skates Past Trent with Ease

Bronte won the last time they faced Trent and things went their way on Friday too. The Longhorns claimed a resounding 62-12 win over the Gorillas. Considering the Longhorns have won six games by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

When it comes to explaining why Trent lost, don't look at Michael Wallis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 110 yards and one score on only 14 carries. Wallis' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 110 rushing yards.

The victory (which was Bronte's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. As for Trent, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 6-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bronte is set to take on their familiar foe Olfen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Trent will face off against rival Blackwell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
