Softball Recap: Roxana Comes Up Short

Roxana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the O'Fallon Panthers.

Ava Cherry was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilli Ray, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Roxana's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for O'Fallon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-11.

Roxana has already played their next contest, a 23-7 defeat against Freeburg on the 6th. As for O'Fallon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-0 victory against East St. Louis on the 7th.
