Baseball Recap: Pine Forest Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Pine Forest hadn't done well against Gray's Creek recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Pine Forest Trojans had just enough and edged out the Gray's Creek Bears 11-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Jayhlen Brown and Chase Mims did most of the damage at the plate: Brown scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Mims scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave Brown a new career-high. Wade McLamb was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI.

Pine Forest pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs over those games. As for Gray's Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Forest is headed away from home for the first time to square off against South View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gray's Creek, they will head out to face off against Union Pines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
