UNIONDALE, N.Y. - A late missed two-point conversion cost
St. Francis Prep (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) as it fell 42-41 to
Kellenberg Memorial (Uniondale, N.Y.).
The Firebirds led 14-13 at halftime, but the Terriers recaptured the lead on a touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the fourth. Kellenberg Memorial finally took the lead for good as
Matt Perno ran for a touchdown with 9:00 left in the fifth quarter.
KM's most effective player was Perno. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns.
John Hurley made a difference for St. Francis Prep. He threw three touchdowns.
Next week, SFP (7-2) will take on Holy Cross in a non-conference game. The Knights go into the week with a record of 4-4.
